WOWWWW I feel so seen as an Aries lmao bc contrary to belief of the sign, I also do my best to not express anger. This is bc I use to manipulate and feed into fires when I was younger, and since i've recognized that pattern, I've trained myself to not feed into it anymore. But when you say to not project it onto others and express it in a healthier way I thought "hmph...yk what you fuckin right" because it CAN be released in many other ways. Thank you for bringing this to light!! And thank you for sharing your journey with us <33

This is so timely for me because I've only recently started to lean into my anger too. You brought up so many points that I relate to, like feeling worried about how you'll be perceived as a woman. I just genuinely spent most of my life feeling like..."I don't get angry. I get annoyed but never angry! Those people just need to learn to control their tempers and be more rational." I think I was afraid of how scary and destructive anger seemed. But lately there has been SO MUCH to be angry about and I have been learning that it's actually really important to feel it and express it. And that it IS possible to do that in constructive ways. I nodded so many times reading this post.

Also fun fact--I studied emotion regulation and while most people tend to think of being "regulated" as being able to stay calm, psychology actually defines emotion regulation as the ability to bring about, maintain, and increase or decrease WHATEVER emotions you want or need to feel. So allowing yourself to feel your anger, when it exists, actually IS emotion regulation. That's been really helpful for me to think about too!
